Bringing together independent yarn dyers, producers of single origin wool, inspirational tutors and lecturers, and all fibre crafters for an award nominated yarn festival in Scotland.

Welcome to Perth Festival of Yarn

Established in 2016, Perth Festival of Yarn is Scotland’s contemporary yarn and fibre festival.

Over the last 7 years we have welcomed the very best independent businesses from across the UK and EU to our thoughtfully curated Vendors’ Gallery Marketplace.  Our illustrious tutors and lecturers have included Jeanette Sloan, Françoise Danoy, Andre de Castro, Di Gilpin, and Amy Palko.   Each year we put together a fringe programme of social events which have included books signings, gala dinners and fashions shows, and Perthshire gin flights.  The level of detail, innovation and passion we craft into each offering is why we are not only an award nominated destination festival, but also the reasons why you join us from – on average – 20 different countries every year.

Vendor applications for our 2023 celebration will open here on our website in early January.  If you are the owner of an independent fibre business and would like to register your interest ahead of time, email us at vendors@perthfestivalofyarn.uk

Our next event is the Scottish Wool Producers Showcase on 25 March 2023, which will be hosted at the Dewars Centre, Perth.

Born in 2022 the Scottish Wool Producers Showcase seeks to shine a spotlight on yarns with a distinctly Scottish origin and their makers.  Featuring a boutique marketplace celebrating Scotland’s single farm yarns, shepherds, mills, and more, as well as inspiring presentations.

Tickets for this event will be released on 4 February 2023.

We at Perth Festival of Yarn are passionate about the City which we call home.  Perth is Scotland’s ancient capital, the crowning place of our Kings, the Gateway to the Highlands, and 90% of the Scottish population are only a 90 minutes drive away; so we are closer than you may have originally thought!  If you are planning on jetting in from further afield then connecting train journeys from Glasgow Queen Street (arriving from Glasgow International Airport) and Edinburgh Gateway stations (arriving at Edinburgh International Airport) are only an hour to Perth.
